Sun Screens

Too much sun can be extremely harmful to your skin. If you are going to be outside for any length of time in the hot sun, you must use sunscreen. Ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB) rays are invisible, but can be very damaging to the skin if it is not protected. These damaging rays can cause skin cancer, altered pigmentation, dilated blood vessels and change the texture of your skin. Each of those factors can accelerate the aging of your skin. When you have a sunburn, you damage the skin. Repeated sunburns mean a higher risk of developing skin cancer later in life. Don't think that tanning is safe either. Tanning is simply a light burn. There is no safe tan.

There are many different sun screens on the market to help minimize exposure to the damaging UVA and UVB rays of the sun. Sunscreens can protect if they are applied properly and consistently. Truthfully, staying out of the sun during the worst hours of the day is your best protection. Covering up with sunscreen, a hat or protective clothing is also a good idea. Think about other kinds of sunscreens too: window tinting, sun shades and other sun filtering devices are available for homes and vehicles. You may need a patio shade for your backyard.

Sun screens are very important. You might worship the sun, tan constantly and think you will never get skin cancer. Think again. Many who thought the same thing are now dead of skin cancer. Sunscreens applied to your skin are probably the easiest and least expensive way to protect yourself from the sun. In today's health and beauty world, a sun protection element is often a part of makeup including facial, lip and body moisturizing products. You've only got one skin. Protect it and keep yourself looking young.

To answer those questions, we need to learn a little about cellulite. The term was coined in France about 35 years ago. It describes the dimpling pattern of fat found on hips, thighs, buttocks and upper arms. It is a subcutaneous fat deposit. Our skin is linked by strands of fibrous tissue attached to deeper tissue layers in the body which separate the fat cell compartments. When our fat cells go larger and bulge, they cause a dimpled look to the surface of the skin. This is cellulite.
