Aging Supplements
Aging Supplements
As we age, we tend to think more and more about how to keep our bodies in peak physical condition. Many of us baby boomers are taking anti-aging supplements. Do they really do anything? Perhaps we will be fine if we eat nutritiously, exercise sufficiently and try to get nine hours of sleep every night. Is there really any magic substance we can take that can do any better? Let's take a look at some of the options.
There are a few anti aging supplements that seem to be all the rage. DHEA, for example, is supposed to be excellent. It is a substance normally produced by the body's adrenal glands. As we get older, though, its levels drop off with supposedly negative results. Studies have recommended DHEA as one of the best aging supplements because it is such a necessary part of your own health and internal chemistry. A DHEA supplement is supposed to increases levels of testosterone and growth factor which helps the body heal and continuously repair cell damage.
Flaxseed oil is another of the aging supplements which is highly recommended. Actually, it is not only flaxseed oil, but several of a number of oils containing essential fatty acids, like fish oil. These acids are supposed to exert a powerful anti-aging effect and contribute to fighting free radicals. Whether this makes any sense, only you can be the judge. Many people do swear by their oil anti-aging supplements daily, so there might be something to it.
It may just be that there really isn't much difference at all between taking one of these aging supplements and just getting out for some good old fashioned exercise. It can be very exhilarating to get out running, jogging, or swimming. It will make you feel younger, too. When you exercise, you feel young and healthy and full of life. If you skip a day, you are liable to feel much older, achy, and downright crotchety. There may or may not be a miraculous ant-aging supplement which will solve all of your problems. Instead, it may just be a matter of doing your best each and every day to live a healthy and active life. This includes eating right and avoiding unhealthy habits. A glass of wine before bed, and no whiskey before noon I always say.
