Weighty Issues Body Size Is Not Necessarily A Factor For Cellulite

Cellulite, the dreaded "C" word. You don't have to be overweight to have it. While many people think that only overweight people have cellulite, this simply isn't true. No matter what you weigh, you are at risk for developing unsightly cellulite. It may be more noticeable if you are overweight, but even the skinniest people can get it. Perhaps societies opinions about cellulite changed when skinny supermodels and celebrities started complaining about it. Yes, even the thin, beautiful people can have cellulite. Thin people everywhere started to take a good hard look at their inner thighs.

Cellulite is genetic. If your mother had it, you are ten times as likely to get it yourself. It has been estimated that over 90% of the world's female population has had cellulite at one time or another. There is no escaping it. There are things that can be done to prevent it though.

Exercise may be the best way to minimize cellulite. Overweight people who do little exercise are more likely to have prominent cellulite. Exercising allows better circulation in the body and pulls muscles and skin tighter. It helps prevent cellulite and reduces the appearance of cellulite that you can't get rid of.

Thin people who rarely exercise are most likely to spot cellulite. Models and those skinny people who stay skinny by not eating can are at risk. While diet is important to staying thin, exercise combined with a good diet will give you the most attractive body possible.

Overweight people are not the only ones who suffer from cellulite. To avoid and diminish cellulite, get out and get active. Go to the gym, take a walk or work out at home. Get the exercise you need to stay healthy and fit. You will look and feel great and not worry about unsightly cellulite.

  • Reducing Cellulite

Most people think cellulite is a problem for the overweight. Actually, while fat and cellulite are related, cellulite is not necessarily excess fat, but it is the condition of the connective tissue that holds the fat cells in place. If the connective tissue is not supported by good diet and exercise, it becomes slack and allows fat cells to break through. The fat cells then become trapped in a matrix of fibers. These trapped fat cells are cellulite.
