The South Beach diet was formulated by Dr. Arthur Agatston when many of his patients tried that Atkins diet with no success. His patients found that giving up all carbohydrates was just too difficult. Dr. Agatston formulated the South Beach diet as a different diet that was more realistic than Atkins by allowing some carbs as long as they are good carbs.
Dr. Agatston, a cardiologist, also wanted to be sure that his diet was safe for his patients. There is no use putting someone on a diet if that diet is going to kill them with a heart attack. He did not want his patients eating too much protein and fat.

Yes, that is correct, it is costing me double what I was accustomed to. This means, that for my company to provide affordable health care to all of the employees, it is no longer affordable for us. Without getting a raise, my paychecks are dwindling just so that my family can have health care.
